Author description

Liam Hauser was born in Queensland in 1982 and lived there for most of his life before moving to Tumut in rural NSW in 2008 after becoming a journalist. He completed a Bachelor of Journalism degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 2006 before working as a sports reporter, firstly in Kingaroy (Queensland), and then in Tumut NSW. In his role as a country journalist, he has covered sports as diverse as cricket, rugby league, rugby union, tennis, oztag, soccer, gymnastics, golf, camp drafting, rifle shooting and archery. Liam developed a strong interest in cricket and rugby league as a youngster. He thought that if others could write about these sports, then he too could aspire to become a sports journalist and author. His first major publication was Rugby League State of Origin: 30 Years, which he worked on for 10 years while studying at High School and then becoming a journalist. A Century of Cricket Tests, his second major undertaking, is the product of hundreds of hours of research and a writing regime spanning 18 months over 2012-13.
