What It Takes: How I Built a $100 Million Business Against the Odds

Author(s): Raegan Moya-Jones

Draw inspiration from Raegan Moya-Jones' empowering journey and learn how to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

Raegan Moya-Jones is one of today's most fascinating entrepreneurs. Growing up a party girl in Australia more interested in travelling the world than holding down a job, she dropped out of college and moved to New York. Finally getting her act together she went into sales but soon realized corporate life wasn't for her. It was obvious that her (mostly male) bosses didn't like being challenged by an outspoken Aussie chick.

So she decided to start a company on her own terms. And instead of quitting her sales executive job at the Economist, she quietly built her business in the small hours of the night after putting her young daughters to bed. Seeing a huge opening in the baby products market, Raegan started aden + anais, which introduced muslin blankets and the art of swaddling to the U.S. When the company reached $1 million in revenue in less than two years, she was finally ready to make the leap to a full-time entrepreneur.

Skip forward ten years and today the little company she founded is a thriving international brand with a global revenue over $100 million, and Raegan has made another leap, launching Saint Luna, a boutique liquor company poised to turn the stereotype of moonshine on its head.

The John Burroughs quote "Leap, and the net will appear" has always been Raegan's guiding principle in business. Her entrepreneurial journey -- from babies to booze -- will show the hopeful entrepreneur that she doesn't have to know it all, as long as she's willing to leap. If Raegan can do it, anyone can.
