Author description

Nisha has always had a passion for food and cooking but, as a first generation British Indian and the daughter of two doctors, she chose the bar over the kitchen. Nisha became the first female Indian barrister in Liverpool. Twenty years later, in 2014, and a successful family and child protection barrister, Nisha took a sabbatical to set up her first restaurant, Mowgli Street Food, in Liverpool. She also wrote her first book, Pimp My Rice (published by Nourish Books, October 2015). A second Mowgli restaurant opened in 2015 in Manchester and there are two more sites planned for 2016. The restaurateur and barrister also runs regular cookery classes, Twitter Curry Clinics. Married to a classical guitarist, Nisha has two daughters. @NishaKatona www.mowglistreetfood.com
