A dazzling array of Hollywood starlets and pin-up girls, including Bettie Paige, Dixie Evans, and Tura Satana, come to life in hundreds of eye-popping, 3-D photographs taken by classic silent film star Harold Lloyd. Alongside Chaplin and Keaton, Harold Lloyd was considered one of the masters of silent film comedy, starring in such classics as "Safety Last!" And "The Freshman". He was also an avid photographer and was passionate about 3-D photography in particular. He began his study in 3-D photography in 1947 by taking pictures of his friends and family, such as Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and Ronald Reagan with a stereoscopic 3D still camera. At around the same time he began mastering the art of pin-up photography, capturing models including Betty Paige. During his lifetime he shot more than 300,000 photographs. Collected for the first time here in book form are Lloyd's most lavish, luscious, and, yes, ludicrous pictures of dazzling Hollywood nudes, posing in front of some of the most dramatic and creative backgrounds imaginable, from Lloyd's famous Hollywood estate, known as Greenacres, to the Grand Canyon, to his studio filled with outrageous props such as faux flowers, animal pelts, and Christmas kitch. Here are nearly 200 nudes, with 50 of them rendered in 3-D and viewable with the special Harold Lloyd-style 3-D glasses for an enhanced and extraordinary visual experience.
