The various stages are also accompanied by phrases and points for reflection that help to complete a journey that is not merely geographic. A special space - the pilgrim's notebook - is provided for pilgrims' own thoughts and impressions, in such a way that it might become a unique personal guide, 'one's own' guide to the Way of St. James, a book to treasure and remember.
